COVID-19: CFWV Procedures
We are thrilled to be open! However, it’s important to realize that this pandemic is not over. Therefore, before walking through the front doors, each member and visitor should read, understand and agree to the following protocols. These will be our new normal until further notice, but following these procedures will help keep everyone safe while still pushing their fitness to its limits.

General Information
- As for face masks, the guidelines say they should be used to the greatest extent possible. Face masks will be required to enter upon entering the building and MUST remain worn throughout the warmup and set up - and then put back on once the workout has ended. We will not require athletes to wear masks during the WOD unless they feel safe doing so - but that is the only time the mask may be off while at CFWV. We will also continue to practice social distancing during WODs as much as possible.
- Drop-Ins: you must email us at crossfitwv@gmail.com at least 24 hours in advance to ensure there is sufficient space in each class. We simply cannot let you participate if we do not receive the advance notice of your arrival.
Upon Arriving to the Box
- When you arrive at the box, please do not park on the blacktop. Instead, park in the gravel area, as we intend on using the blacktop as much as possible for the WODs.
- Every athlete will be required to wear a face mask and have their temperature checked as they enter the building and immediately wash their hands.
- We request that if you arrive at the box more than 5 minutes before the scheduled class time, please wait in your car until just before class begins (or take a warm up run). Congregating in the gym or the parking lot before and after classes needs to be limited.
- Please come to the box dressed in the clothing you intend to workout in. The changing rooms will only be available if absolutely necessary and only (1) athlete may be in a changing room at a time.
Before, During & After the WODs
- We will require a minimum of six feet between athletes during the WOD at all times. Our facility is large enough that athletes will be able to keep a distance of more than six feet. Also, we intend to use the parking lot area as much as possible for workouts to help people spread out even more.
- There will be no equipment sharing at any time. No two athletes may use the same pull up bar, ab mat, blue mat, Wallball or any other piece of equipment during a WOD.
- Lanes to and from the pull up bars and in and out of the front door for runs will be designated before each WOD to limit the amount of passing other athletes.
- Every athlete is required to wipe down every piece of equipment touched following the WOD with the cleaning and disinfecting products provided by CFWV. This is the same procedure that we have always followed but we will require athletes to do so with extreme vigilance.
- Because our coaches need time to thoroughly disinfect the facility after each class, we ask that you clean up your area and exit the building as soon as possible following the WOD. We would like to have 15 minutes before the start of each class time to be able to clean and disinfect and prepare for the upcoming class. We understand socializing is one of the fun aspects of CrossFit, but the health and safety of our staff and members must come first.
- Please respect fellow athletes and coaches by keeping a safe distance of at least six feet before, during and after the WOD.
Inside the Facility
- Hand sanitizer will be available at all times. We recommend using it before and after the WOD.
- Please enter the office only if absolutely necessary. Only (2) people are permitted in the office at a time.
- The water fountain will not be available, so please make sure you bring water to every workout or purchase some from the office.
- The restrooms will be available - but showering at the box is now prohibited.
- Please do not leave tissues, towels or water bottles laying around. Dispose of them properly and immediately.
Be Honest with Yourself
- If the answer is YES to any of the following questions before each and every WOD, you are not to enter the facility:
- Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
- Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath or sore throat?
- Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?
- Have you had new loss of taste or smell?
- Have you had vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours?
